Striking at better than most of the top batters, premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recorded his first half-century in T20 cricket as Rajasthan Royals posted 160 for six against Delhi Capitals in the IPL on Wednesday.
Ashwin made a 38-ball 50, while Devdutt Padikkal struck 48 in 30 deliveries after RR were asked to bat first.

Although Ashwin’s brilliant effort went in vain as Royals lost the match, what caught the attention of fans was his unique crouched batting stance as if holding a hockey stick and not a bat.
In the 12th over of Royals’ inning, the veteran was facing Kuldeep Yadav and to the shock of cricket fans, Ashwin crouched low while batting. He almost sat down on the pitch by bending his knees before adjusting to a short-ball against the bowler.
The stance was soon turned into a viral meme on social media.
