Mysuru: MP Prathap Simha on Wednesday met the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) chairperson Alka Upadhya in Bengaluru and urged her to take up work to extend the safety of motorists on the 10-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru highway. He asked her to provide earthen shoulder during the ongoing highway upgrade as it will ensure the safety of movement for motorists. The MP also urged her to resolve pending land acquisition-related issues on priority. Some landowners in Kenchanakuppe and Choramaranahalli village in Ramanagar district had halted construction and other development work initiated along the highway stretch because of land acquisition issues. During his recent project inspection at the site at various locations, the MP said he had found out about a delay in shifting high-power lines.
