2-km radius of BCPL declared no-drone zone

Dibrugarh: The Dibrugarh administration on Wednesday declared a 2-km radius of the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) in Lepetkata area as a no-drone zone. The 2-km radius of the gas dehydration unit (GDU) at Duliajan has also been declared a no-drone zone. The order was issued by deputy commissioner Biswajit Pegu following a request of the BCPL chief manager (security).
“The Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh has declared that an area of 2 km radius from perimeter of the listed vital installations of BCPL plant at Lepetkata and GDU at Duliajan as prohibited area for flying of non-conventional aerial objects/drones operations and any operation within the area will require explicit permission...,” said a statement by the district information and public relations officer.
