Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett and Minister of Tourism for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb, shake hands following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on tourism collaboration and the development of sustainability and resilience globally. The agreement was executed at the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations (UN), on the heels of the UN General Assembly’s High-level Thematic Debate on Tourism, held at the UN Headquarters, New York on Wednesday (May 4).
Minister Bartlett said: “This important agreement is signalling the first collaboration between a country from the Middle East and the Caribbean on tourism development, tourism strategies, and sustainability and resilience arrangements.” He noted that the agreement is going to be critical in terms of the value it will bring by facilitating the exchange of important best practices and very useful guidelines that can benefit both countries.
