Mehta appointed Cong poll officer

Ludhiana: Punjab Congress general secretary Parminder Mehta has been appointed election officer for the party’s organisational polls in Sunam. The official information came from state Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and working president Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Tuesday during a meeting of the state unit. Thanking the party’s high command for his appointment, Mehta said: “I will ensure that the elections of our party’s organisational structure in Sunam are held with full transparency and all the rules and regulations are followed. I will visit Sunam to meet the candidates and eligible voters, besides to check the election arrangements.” TNN
