Telangana: 20,000 absent from Inter English-II exam

HYDERABAD: Over 20,000 students remained absent for the English paper-II of Intermediate Public Examinations on Tuesday. No untoward incidents were reported during the English examination.
While a total of 4. 37 lakh candidates registered for the exam, 4.17 lakh appeared for the exam on Tuesday. The remaining 20, 656 were absent.
The board revealed that no malpractice cases have been reported on Tuesday.
“Observers were sent to Siddipet, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, and Mahabubnagar districts from the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) to examinations centres and found smooth and peaceful conduct of examinations without any untoward incidents,” the Board said.
When it comes to Hyderabad district, while a total of 69,766 second-year students registered for the exam, 67, 299 candidates were present and the remaining 2, 467 candidates remained absent.
The Intermediate public examinations commenced in the state on May 6. Till now, five malpractice cases — three from Nizamabad and one each from Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad, have been reported.
