Thiruvananthapuram: A
KSRTC bus headed to Nagercoil from
Thiruvananthapuram rammed into a shop at Pallichal here on Tuesday morning. The passengers sustained minor injuries and were shifted to various hospitals. The accident occurred at
Parurukuzhi near Pallichal.
According to police, slippery road conditions due to heavy showers and the curve on the path may have caused the accident. A detailed probe will be undertaken later, the authorities said.
The bus from
Neyyattinkara depot rammed into the shop and toppled on its course. Luckily the shop was not open and there was nobody near the shop. Local residents said that it could have been a major tragedy had there been people around the shop and the bus was crowded.
The locals rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and rescued the people and rushed them to nearby hospitals.
Some of the passengers were rushed to
Medical College Hospital and others with mild injuries were taken to neighbouring hospitals.
