BAREILLY: A 24-year-old man who had stepped out of his house to make a few purchases was stabbed allegedly by a man and soon after, shot dead in a busy market in Lakhimpur Kheri on Monday night. One person has been arrested. A resident of Lakhimpur city, Jaiprakash Mishra got married on April 28. He was in a shop when he was stabbed by a man. As the wounded man tried to get away, two more men allegedly surrounded him and shot him dead with a country made even as he tried to fight back. The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera on Nighasan road. Jaiprakash was rushed to the hospital by his family members but was declared dead by doctors. His elder brother was murdered because of a property nearly three years ago. Police have registered an FIR against five people but none of them has so far been arrested. Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh said, “The reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained but we will soon crack the case. Several teams are working on it.”
