CHENNAI: Fresh Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu marginally increased to 40 compared to 38 on Monday. The state discharged 53 patients from the registry and 441 patients continued to take treatment for the viral infection, either at home or in hospitals. There were no deaths. Chennai, which added 23 new cases – three more than Monday – and was the only district to report cases in two digits. Chengalpet followed with six new cases. Coimbatore and Tiruvallur reported two new cases. Of the 441 active cases, Chennai had 231 followed by 122 patients in Chengalpet and 16 in Coimbatore. There were 26 patients admitted to the hospitals from across the state for Covid-19 treatment.
