NAGPUR: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole has accused NCP of "backstabbing" after their natural ally sided with BJP in Tuesday's Bhandara ZP polls.
This is one of the most strongest statement yet by Patole, against its ally in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Though Patole managed to secure Bhandara ZP, president post for Congress by luring a rebel faction from BJP, his displeasure with NCP has now come out in the open.
Patole tweeted in Marathi saying, "After extending a hand of friendship, NCP is backstabbing us."

NCP and BJP had come together to topple Congress' candidate for ZP president and vice president. However the plan failed as Congress got support from BJP leader Charan Waghmare's faction.
