Asani affect: Light to moderate showers likely in state today

Ranchi: The Ranchi office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted light to moderate showers over Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro and Kolhan and Santhal Pargana divisions in the next 48 hours.
“Owing to Asani, clouds are approaching Jharkhand. Light to moderate showers are expected on Wednesday and Thursday,” Abhishek Anand, the scientist at IMD Ranchi, said.
The weather office also said light showers were recorded in isolated parts of the state in the past 24 hours. “The highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Sahebganj (1.5 mm),” the IMD said. Godda and Pakur received 0.5 mm of rain each.
The weather in Ranchi took a turn from Tuesday as clouds began to accumulate over the cityscape accompanied by breeze.
