Dharwad: The Karnataka Central Co-Operative Bank (KCC) has posted a net profit of Rs 5.98 crore this fiscal. The bank’s president Mallikarjun Horakeri said ere on Tuesday that the bank has been rendering yeomen service to farmers for the last 10 decades and has a membership of over 56,000 and has 1,559 cooperative societies in Dharwad, Gadag and Haveri. Through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACs), farm loans to the tune of Rs 490 crore has been disbursed to 1.07 lakh farmers at 0% rate of interest in addition to Rs 40.14 crore loans at 3%, he said. At present, the bank has 44 branches in undivided Dharwad district and is planning to open 22 new branches . tnn
