Second round of RTE admissions to be held from May 12 to 14

This year, 1.93 lakh forms were filled in the state of which 1.76 lakh applications were accepted while 16,629 were rejected because of the lack of necessary documents or wrongly uploaded documents. This was the highest number of forms submission ever in the state after RTE came into effect.
This year, the last date for submitting forms online was April 11 and after that the parents who had made mistakes in submitting forms for their wards were given a three-day time to correct the mistakes. Around 11,000 forms were corrected during this three-day period, sources said.
As many as 70,000 children of economically poor families will be given admission. The government gives a grant of maximum Rs 13,000 per child to private schools for admitting them under RTE rule.
