After surrendering before the police, MLA Girraj Singh Malinga was taken to Dholpur.
JAIPUR: Over a month after the Rajasthan Police had booked Congress MLA Girraj Singh Malinga for the alleged assault on an assistant engineer (AEN) of the electricity department in Dholpur, the legislator on Wednesday surrendered before the Jaipur police commissioner.
Malinga arrived at the commissionerate around 3pm and surrendered after meeting the commissioner Anand Kumar Srivastava.

Malinga denied allegations against him during a brief talk with the press outside Srivastava’s office. He was then taken to Dholpur, where the CID-CB’s investigation officer (IO) has been sent to arrest him.
On March 28, Malinga and others were accused of attacking Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) officials in Bari in the Dholpur district.
An FIR was registered, wherein the complainant, Harshadipati (27), an AEN, alleged that he was present in a meeting with other officials of his department when Malinga, accompanied by five to six people, barged into the office.
Harshadipati alleged that the MLA threw the chair offered to him and then hurled casteist slurs, while the people who had come with Malinga began assaulting Harshadipati.
As per the FIR, the complainant in his statements to the police, also alleged that the MLA also put his feet on his mouth.
