Rajkot: A 45-year-old man, who had come from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, to immerse his father's ashes, was brutally killed by his friend for allegedly making obscene comments about his wife and making an indecent demand.
Though the incident happened on April 28, the police registered an offence late on Saturday night after the accused Paresh
Solanki was arrested. The victim Suresh
Viramgamiya's decomposed body was found from the roadside bushes on Kotda road near Rajkot on Friday.
Solanki told police that he flew in a fit of rage after Viramgamiya demanded physical relationship with his wife.
Both are natives of Jaliya village near Rajkot but Viramgamiya had been staying in Jodhpur for many years.
Viramgamiya's wife, who had also come to Jaliya, had left for Jodhpur with their four sons and daughter after a bitter quarrel with him.
On April 28, they went to immerse the ashes of Viramgamiya's father and later to pay obeisance at a deity's temple in Jaliya.
After finishing the rituals, they took the road leading to Kotda village and had liquor during which Viramgamiya told Solanki that he liked his wife and wanted to sleep with her.
Solanki got infuriated and started kicking Viramgamiya on his private parts. He kicked him so much that the victim collapsed and died on the spot. Solanki then dumped his body on the roadside and left.
Police found a note from Viramgamiya's pant pocket in which the number of his cousin brother
Vinod Parmar was mentioned.
Parmar was called to the postmortem room where he recognized the body, said Kuvadva Road police.
