4 wedding guests run over by truck carrying sound system

Kalaburagi: Four wedding revellers died and 10 were injured on Saturday night when the mini-truck carrying the sound system ran over them while they were dancing to the beats.
The freak accident happened when the vehicle was on a slope and rolled down the incline when the driver was not in it. Before anyone could stop the vehicle it had run over several wedding guests. Three died on the spot and one succumbed in hospital. The wedding celebration was happening in Kadatal tanda in the Sedam taluk of Kalaburagi district on Saturday night.
Sugunabai Chavan, 40, a resident of Medak tanda in Sedam, Vijjibai Rathod, 30, of Dunkudanayak tanda in Telangana, Kumaranayak Rathod, 35, of the same village and Lakshmibai, 40, died.
The marriage of Kavitha of Madana tanda and Mannu Rathod of Kadatal tanda was fixed on Sunday and the bride was brought to the groom’s house on Saturday evening. A night-long dance was planned.
The sound system was brought from Hyderabad to celebrate the event.
