Mysuru: Congress activists led by former MLA MK Somashekhar held a protest at Ramaswamy Circle in the city on Sunday, urging the government to probe allegations of an offer of Rs 2,500 crore for a chief ministerial post and Rs 100 crore for a ministerial berth made by senior BJP leader and MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal. The protesters said the Enforcement Directorate, income tax department, CBI, ACB and other premier investigating agencies must probe the accusations. They shouted slogans against the Centre for not curbing corruption in the state government and garlanded a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with currency notes. The Congress protesters also brought suitcases of cash with them to the agitation. As the allegations are serious, the state government must immediately order a probe, the protesters said. The investigating agencies should take up the matter suo motu in the larger interest of the public. They also held the state BJP government responsible for the PSI scam. tnn
