Mysuru: KAS officer GD Dinesh Kumar on Wednesday took charge as the commissioner of Mysore Urban Development Authority. Outgoing commissioner DB Natesh handed over the charge to him.
Though Dinesh had served as the commissioner for few weeks in January, he lost the post as Natesh approached the KAT, which stayed his appointment.
Dinesh has taken charge following a directive from the high court which had allowed Natesh to continue in the post till May 4, giving him time to complete two years of service. The government had transferred Natesh in early January and had put MCC commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy in-charge of Muda. Natesh was later posted as general manager of the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation, while Dinesh was posted as Muda commissioner. But Natesh had approached KAT questioning his transfer saying it is premature. The KAT had stayed Dinesh’s appointment allowing Natesh to assume the charge again. Dinesh approached the high court which allowed Natesh to continue in the post till May 4. Meanwhile, Dinesh held a meeting with the senior Muda officials after assuming the charge.
