Vikrant Massey who is known for Mirzapur, Haseen Dilruba, Criminal Justice etc. has just bought a new Mercedes-Benz GLS for himself. He opted for a single-tone black colour which makes the SUV look stealthy. According to media reports, Vikrant opted for the 400d 4MATIC variant and it costs Rs. 1.16 Crores.

GLS is the flagship SUV from Mercedes-Benz. The manufacturer sells another variant of the GLS which is called GLS 450 4MATIC, it costs Rs. 1.18 Crores ex-showroom. If you are really into luxurious vehicles then you can get the top of the line Maybach GLS600 4MATIC. It is priced at Rs. 2.47 Crores ex-showroom.

The 400d comes with a 3.0-litre diesel engine that produces 330 PS of max power and 700 Nm of peak torque whereas the 450 comes with a 3.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 367 PS of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission and Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The engines also get a mild-hybrid system that produces an additional 22 PS and 250 Nm which comes in handy while overtaking or when the engine is not at its most efficient state. It also helps in reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy.

As expected the SUV comes with many luxurious features. It gets a memory function with seat kinetics, Vario seats at the rear and pillows for the headrests. There is also a soft close function for the doors which basically means that the occupants do not need to shut the doors with force, the system can automatically close the doors once they are close enough. Mercedes offers Rear Comfort Package Plus with the GLS. It comes with a removable MBUX rear tablet that the rear occupants can use to control various functions. Moreover, the centre console is also extended along with the armrest.

The SUV is offered as a seven-seater which means it can be used as a people hauler. There are two digital screens that form up the dashboard.  The driver gets a configurable digital instrument cluster and then there is the touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are also connected care features and you can also give voice commands by saying “Hey Mercedes”.

The multi-function steering wheel comes with touch-sensitive buttons through which you can control the multi-information display, digital instrument cluster, cruise control and the infotainment system. Mercedes offers an air suspension setup which is known to provide very comfortable ride quality. Moreover, you can increase or decrease the ride height through the infotainment system.

Up-front, there are multibeam LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. They have a throw of up to 650 metres. with high beam assist and cornering function. Other beneficial features on offer are blind spot assist, active braking assist., Pre-safe system, Attention Assist, 360-degree parking camera with parking package, panoramic sunroof, illuminated running boards etc.
