Ludhiana: The Ludhiana District Bar Association (DBA) observed a strike to protest cases “lodged” against a few advocates. The strike call was given by DBA president Gurkirpal Singh Gill, secretary Mandeep Sidhu against the alleged high-handedness by the police. Members of DBA alleged that police lodged cases against some advocates including Tejinder Singh, Gurinder Sood, Sanjeev Malhotra, Amit Gupta, Neeraj Chandel and S S Sidhu, without a probe on different occasions. They added that advocates would not tolerate such acts. DBA members also staged a dharna in front of office of the Ludhiana police commissioner to register their resentment.
