Royal Challengers Bangalore put Chennai Super Kings on the verge of elimination as they inflicted a 13-run defeat upon the four-time IPL champs. Having endured a tough start to the season, CSK knew a single defeat in their remaining matches could put a spanner on their chances of qualification to the playoffs in 2022.
With just four games to go, the road ahead for CSK looks extremely tough, however, for RCB, on the other hand, after 3 defeats on the trot, they tasted a win at last.
Mahipal Lomror played a crucial knock of 42-runs, while Harshal Patel got a three-wicket spell, which enabled RCB to get sweet revenge over CSK.

After Maheesh Theekshana and Moeen Ali took five wickets between themselves to keep Royal Challengers Bangalore to 173/8, Bangalore`s bowling attack adopted the pace off approach successfully in restricting Chennai to 160/8 in their 20 overs.
The result means that Bangalore are now at fourth place in the points table, after snapping their three-match losing streak. Chennai, on the other hand, will be left to rue their inability to build on a wicketless power-play and Devon Conway getting a fine 56 on a pitch which had enough assistance for spinners.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings' chances of qualifying for the playoffs of IPL 2022 look very bleak now as they need to win all of their remaining games, and hope for some assistance from other teams as well, so that results can go in their favour.
CSK can rack up a maximum of 14 points, so their net run rate (NRR) also needs to improve, otherwise, its curtains for them.
