Taco Bell parent misses on profit and revenue

Yum Brands Inc. YUM, +1.35% reported first-quarter net income of $399 million, or $1.36 per share, up from $326 million, or $1.07 per share, last year. Adjusted EPS of $1.05 missed the FactSet consensus of $1.07. Revenue of $1.547 billion was up from $1.486 billion and just below the FactSet consensus for $1.592 billion. Global same-store sales rose 3% with Taco Bell up 5%, KFC up 3% and Pizza Hut breakeven. Habit Burger Grill grew its sales by 17%. Yum Brands stock is down 17.1% for the year to date.
