DEHRADUN: To ensure that lakhs of devotees visiting Uttarakhand for Char Dham yatra do not face traffic woes, the state government has decided to permit the movement of vehicles from 4 am to 10 pm on the pilgrimage route. As per earlier orders, vehicles on the route were allowed from 8 am to 10 pm and thereafter, there was a complete ban on movement of vehicles. Transport commissioner Ranvir Singh Chauhan told TOI, “Lakhs have already enrolled themselves for the Char Dham yatra and many more are expected to visit. To reach Char Dham, pilgrims either use their own vehicle or avail the cab service. Under such a scenario, the traffic on the Char Dham route increases manifold.”
