KOLKATA: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday declared '
Ma Mati Manush Divas' to commemorate a year to the day since Trinamool Congress's victory in the 2021 Bengal
assembly polls.
On May 5, Banerjee is likely to roll out a state-wide outreach on social schemes launched in the past year and a grievance redress mechanism modelled on the highly successful 'Didi Ke Bolo'.
The CM posted on Twitter: "I am ever grateful to our Ma-Mati-Manush for having shown to the high & mighty, last year on this day, the indomitable courage of Bengal. Our people showed to the world that there is no bigger a power than the power of people in a democracy. Our commitment to true nation building should continue, for there are many more battles to be fought together & won together. I dedicate this day to Ma- Mati-Manush and urge that this day be henceforth called Ma-Mati-Manush Divas. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla."
Trinamool Congress national general secretary
Abhishek Banerjee tweeted: "2nd May 2021 will always have our heart. Thanking every single person across #Bengal on this day for placing their faith in the #MaaMatiManush government for the third time. We promise to keep serving you in the best possible way at all times!"
Ahead of the 2023 panchayat polls, a new Trinamool Bhawan would be inaugurated by Banerjee at Metropolitan in Beliaghata area, off Bypass, on Akshaya Tritiya on Tuesday. The four-storeyed building has been decked up with paintings of the CM and has an exhibition on her political struggles.

The state-wide campaigns will highlight Bengal's success stories and run for a fortnight from May 5-20.
The overall programme - Bangla Unnayaner Pathey - will continue till June 6.
