Gurgaon: A group of men allegedly beat to death a 30-year-old man over a monetary dispute with his brother while the two were attending a wedding ceremony in Sector 9A on Monday evening, police said.
The accused are yet to be arrested.

Rohit were attending the wedding ceremony of a friend at the community centre when 6-7 men came inside. They dragged Sumit outside the venue and beat him up with sticks and rods, according to the complaint by his brother.
Sumit initially managed to escape and hide in the bushes but the group found him and thrashed him again until he lost consciousness, the complaint said. Rohit told police he learnt of his brother’s death an hour later.
“The accused and Rohit had a contentious history related to money. As per the investigation, there was an argument between the two groups,” a police officer said, adding that the group thrashed Sumit to get back at Rohit.
The port-mortem report said Sumit sustained injuries to his head and fractures from a sharp-edged weapon. “The cause of death is the head injury and seems to have been inflicted with a sharp-edged weapon,” said Dr

An FIR was registered at the Sector 9A police station under sections 302 (punishment for murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of the offence committed in prosecution of common object), 147 (punishment for rioting) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the
IPC.
“There are around 6-7 men who are involved in this crime. We have not yet arrested the accused. The investigation is ongoing,” the officer cited above said.
