PATNA: RJD leader
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday openly solicited the support of the people from Bhumihar and Brahmin castes, saying the unity of all social groups alone could help in making
Bihar a progressive state.
Addressing the function held to mark the
Parshuram Jayanti here, he also wished health and well-being of all on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya and Eid.
“We are trying to take all sections with us to make Bihar a developed state. The society of Brahmin and
Bhumihars is aware of it,”
Tejashwi said.
“Social justice does not mean excluding anyone. It means taking everyone together and moving forward,” he said.
Tejashwi said he has been talking about “equality, prosperity and betterment of all and is committed to bringing the poor and the deprived sections into the mainstream, as poverty is in every caste and religion”. He added that “for him the struggle to eliminate poverty is patriotism and nationalism.”Tejashwi assailed the BJP and other saffron outfits, saying a “strange narrative was being set in the country” by them around the theme that “Hindus are in danger”.
“Actually, their chair is in danger. President, PM, Union home minister, all CMs, chiefs of the defence staff, heads of all paramilitary forces are Hindus. Yet, they say Hindus are in danger,” Tejashwi said, adding: “I appeal to you to stick to the real issues. We do inclusive, positive and progressive politics with the participation and cooperation of everyone. We all have to grow together. Otherwise, Bihar will be left behind,” he said.
Tejashwi said people of the state have merit, talent and they are also capable of doing hard work.
