India reported 2,568 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the coronavirus tally to 4,30,84,913. The country also recorded 20 new covid-related fatalities, bring the total number of deaths to 523,889.
According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate stood at 1.07 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.70 per cent.
More than 2,900 people also recovered from the coronavirus, taking the total number of Covid recoveries in the country to 4,25,41,887.

Puducherry Reports 4 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Puducherry added four new cases of COVID-19 today raising the overall caseload in the Union Territory to 1,65,794, a senior health department official said.
Director of Health G Sriramulu, in a release, said the four fresh cases were identified at the end of examination of 338 samples in the last 24 hours.
He said three patients recovered from the viral infection and the overall active cases were nine with all affected persons recuperating in home quarantine.
There was however no new death in any of the four regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam in the Union Territory and the number of fatalities remained unchanged at 1,962, Mr Sriramulu added.
Three patients recovered during the last 24 hours and the total recoveries in the Union Territory were 1,63,823.
The health department has so far examined 22,34,639 samples and found 18,79,468 samples out of them to be negative, the director said.
The test positivity rate was 1.18 per cent while fatality and recovery rates remained 1.18 per cent and 98.81 per cent, respectively.
Mr Sriramulu said the department has administered 16,89,082 doses across the Union Territory till now comprising 9,64,632 first doses, 7,03,564 second doses and 20,886 booster doses.

Mizoram Logs 63 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Mizoram today reported 63 fresh COVID-19 cases, 23 more than the previous day, taking the tally to 2,27,556, a health department official said.
The number of COVID-19 deaths remained at 697 as no new fatality was reported, he said.
The single-day positivity rate increased to 10.96 per cent from 8.10 per cent the previous day, as the fresh cases were detected from 575 samples tested on Monday, he said.
Mizoram now has 475 active COVID-19 cases, while 2,26,384 people have recovered from the infection so far, including 255 on Monday, he said.
The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 99.48 per cent and the death rate is 0.30 per cent.
The northeastern state had reported 40 COVID-19 cases and one fatality on Monday.

The number of deaths in the district remained unchanged at 11,893 and the COVID-19 mortality rate stood at 1.67 per cent, he added.
In neighbouring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 1,63,612, while the death count stands at 3,407, another official said.
