Dhanbad gangster, driver surrender before court

Dhanbad: Local gangster Godwin Khan alias Shaukat Ali and his driver Heera, who are accused in the November 24 murder of a land broker named Nanhe Khan, surrendered before the court of chief judicial magistrate in Dhanbad on Monday. The duo was absconding since last year. The court has remanded them to judicial custody.
Both were accomplices in the murder of Nanhe who was shot dead by Godwin’s brother and Wasseypur gangster Prince Khan alias Haider Ali near a tea joint last year. In a video message, which was released last year soon after the shootout, Prince claimed responsibility for the murder. Since then, Prince has been absconding and the district police have launched a massive manhunt to nab him. On April 20 last year, Jharkhand high court had rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Godwin. TNN
