Ahmedabad records 5 new Covid cases, active cases at 49

AHMEDABAD: The number of new Covid cases remained stable with 16 in Gujarat and 5 in Ahmedabad on Monday. With discharge of 27 patients in Gujarat and 9 in Ahmedabad, active cases reached 111 and 49 respectively. The city accounted for 44% of the active cases.
Other daily cases included 4 from Rajkot city, 3 from Vadodara city, 2 from Valsad, and 1 each from Gandhinagar city and Panchmahal district. The number of districts with zero active cases got reduced to 19 out of 33 districts of the state. Two of the active cases were on ventilator.
Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 5,324 persons for the first dose and 45,316 for the second. In all, 5.38 crore are administered first and 5.14 crore second dose of Covid vaccine. The state administered 33,607 second doses to the children in 12-14 years age group, taking the total to 7.5 lakh.
