Jamshedpur: To tide over the severe power crunch in non-Tata Steel administered areas,
Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran
Mahato met general manager of Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam Limited (JUSNL), Jamshedpur circle,
Paritosh Kumar, on Sunday.
Mahato directed the GM to ensure that people get relief from the frequent and extended power outages.
Paritosh Kumar informed the MP that against the 336 MW power required for Jamshedpur circle, the supply was only around 240 MW. The gap is being reduced in a phased manner by getting power from agencies like DVC and
NTPC. Besides, the power to industrial areas is being redirected to residential areas, he added.
Entrepreneurs in the Adityapur industrial area and other places alleged that production has been impacted due to the power crunch.
Kumar said the consumers should also exercise restraint and use power judiciously.
Kumar was also apprised of problems related to power supply in
Jugsalai area. The GM said the power supply, which has been interrupted in a few rural areas of East Singhbhum due to work in laying underground cables, will be rectified soon.
