Mangaluru: Panambur police have arrested four persons in connection with the theft of three cows from a cowshed at Thokur. The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Ismail aka Iccha Jokatte, Sameer Jokatte, Dawood Hakim aka Dawood and Mohammed Ilyas Jokatte. The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody on Monday. Police seized a car worth Rs 3 lakh used for transporting stolen cows and equipment used for slaughtering the cattle. They stole the cattle on April 25. All the arrested are the residents of Jokatte. The cowshed is owned by Mahabala Poojary and the arrested Dawood is the neighbour of Poojary, it is learnt. The accussed had not only transported cattle, but also slaughtered it for meat.
