Hardik Patel drops his designation, Congress symbol from Twitter bio

AHMEDABAD: Speculation was rife on Monday about Congress leader Hardik Patel having quit the party after he removed the phrase ‘working president’ from the bio of his social media handles.
The bio of Hardik Patel’s twitter handle earlier mentioned that he is working president of the Gujarat Congress. He removed the designation and his Twitter bio now says he is a social and political activist.

This triggered widespread speculation that Patel has quit the party. Congress party leaders, however, clarified that Patel has not left the party. “It is entirely up to Hardik Patel to decide whether or not to mention his designation in his social media pages and handles. All the speculation is uncalled for,” said party spokesperson Manish Doshi.
Congress leaders added that Hardik Patel has not tendered his resignation from the party.
