Election strategist Prashant Kishor who had turned the offer of Congress to join the party last week has now decided to launch his own party from his home state-Bihar.
Kishor, who reached Bihar on Monday announced he would be going to the real masters (people) to better understand their issues and path to good governance.
In a tweet, Kishor said "quest to be a meaningful participant in democracy and help shape pro-people has led me to ten years of roller-coaster ride. As I turn pages, it is time to go to the real masters.
He would be camping in Bihar and touring different districts to launch his Jan Suraj."
According to the former vice-president of JDU, Kishor would interact with the selected groups of intellectuals in Patna for the next two days and have a press conference on May 4.
The poll strategist was expelled from JDU in January 2020 by the principal secretary-general of the party KC Tyagi for his criticism of JDU's stand on the Citizenship Amendment Act which was opposed by the then national party president Nitish Kumar.
He claimed himself to be the Chanakya of Indian politics having given political instructions to all the big guns including the BJP, JDU, TMC and Congress.
Upon his visit, he earlier interacted with 52 selected retired bureaucrats having connections in Bihar. The bureaucrats included former foreign secretary Shyam Sharan, former chairman of SEBI UK Sinha and sought their involvement in Jan Suraj.
He further met with some of the reputed retired civil servants from Bihar. "There is no difference between Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar. The people of Bihar had tolerated Lalu-Rabri for 15 years and are tolerating Nitish for the last 17 years and for the next 15 years, they will have to tolerate Tejaswi," Kishor reportedly said during the talks.
Reacting to the claim of Kishor that he was the Chanakya of Indian politics, deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Ms Renu Devi said, "each and every child in Bihar is Chanakya".
Chanakya was a 376 BC scholar from Patna City during the Mauryan empire and helped Chandragupta to take over as King of the ancient Magadh empire.
