Brain test: Who dies if 'E' pushes the stone?

Brain tests are fun to attempt. Though it is difficult to get the answers straight and correct in the first attempt, it helps the brain exercise.
In the image shown above, a person standing at position E is the focus of the question. There are four other people in the image, standing at different positions.

The person in question is likely to throw the stone however it is not clear whom it would kill once it starts rolling, though it's certain that someone would die when the stone rolls.
There are several ways to interpret the question.

In order to solve the question one needs to take two things into consideration: the point from which the stone will be thrown and the density of the stone.

As per a reddit user: "It wont go past C because clearly it does not weigh as much as the other boulder or whatever that it. Hence fails to push the spikes down on C."

Most of the users are debating over the fate of D, who is just near to E and in a position where his head is likely to come in the way of the rolling stone.

Why D is the answer?

"Clearly the ball near E doesn’t have the same area as the ball on the bottom so we can assume C, B, and A are safe. As the the ball itself. I appears to have diameter of 2 giving it a circumference of 6.28~. If we assume that all spacing lines are perfect than the triangle is 5 long (quick math with the 3, 4, 5 rule). Add to this the half a unit on top near E and the roughly 3/4 on the bottom of the ramp. This puts the length from ball to D at 6.25. Since the ball will only rotate 1 time before it gets to D, he’s dead. If the hollow part had been on the bottom to start everyone would live," says a user.

Why is it likely that D may escape unhurt?

"The ramp is 5 units long (Pythagoras Theorem) and an extra unit is added (+1/2 units from where the ball starts until it reaches the ramp, and +1/2 units from where the ramp ends and D's head starts) making the ball 6 units away from D's head. The ball will have rotated 6 units after 1.5 rotations, making the cutout meet D's head," explains another user.

Why are others safe?

It is because the density of the stone that is being rolled is less in comparison to the one where person C is lying. There is a weak chance that the rolling stone may push down the lever and cross the other stone to roll ahead.
