SIRSA: A woman along with her husband, son, two sons-in-law and two others allegedly beheaded her 38-year-old niece over a plot dispute and a court case in Pipli village of
Sirsa's Kalanwali area on Friday evening. The attackers used swords, axes and pistols and other sharp weapons for killing
Amritpal Kaur.
Sirsa police said the Kalanwali police station has registered a case on the complaint of
Kamaldeep Kaur, 14-year-old daughter of the deceased, against her mother's aunt Rani,
Rani's husband Pappu, son
Nikka Singh and two brothers-in-law of Nikka Singh, besides two other youths under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (common object of unlawfull assembly), 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and under the
Arms Act.
In her complaint to the police, the girl said her parents got divorced about 12 years ago and were living in Pipli village by building a house about eight years ago. Her mother's aunt Rani had helped in buying this plot, she added. However, later the accused asked her mother to leave this house and go to her village, but when the deceased refused to do so, they beat her up. The case in this matter is under trial in Sirsa court, she said.
"The Rani and her family were under a lot of pressure to withdraw this case. When her mother refused to bow to the pressure, on Friday evening, they attacked her mother with a dagger (kirpan), sword, axe and pistol."
