Rain likely in couple of days in Ludhiana, says met dept

Ludhiana: Residents got some respite from the heat, as the maximum or day temperature dropped to around 40 degrees on Sunday. The met department said this is likely to continue for the next few days.
Sunday saw a maximum temperature of at 39.8 degrees Celsius, which is 2.2 degrees more than normal. A day before, the day temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 43.2 degrees Celsius, which was 5.1 degrees more than normal.
The minimum temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 25.0 degrees Celsius, which was 3.7 degrees more than normal but 1.3 degrees less than a day before.
A met department official said due to western disturbances, there are chances of rain in Ludhiana in couple of days. He said the day temperature is expected to fall then but the night temperature may remain above normal.
Meanwhile, according to the met department website, day temperature is expected to fall to 38 degrees by Friday, whereas night temperature may rise to 26 degrees by Tuesday and then fall to 24 degrees by Thursday.
“As the weather has been very hot in the last few days, I have decided not to venture out between 11am and 4pm when sun rays are more intense. We are now waiting for a respite from such a hot weather,” said Dinesh Kumar, a businessman from Chandigarh road.
