G S Sameeran instructed panchayat officials to take efforts to install
CCTV cameras and place first aid boxes in all government buildings.
He was addressing a grama sabha meeting at
Mavuthampathi tribal village in Madukkarai panchayat on the occasion of Labours’ Day on Sunday.
He also instructed officials to expedite the process of issuing death certificates to the kins of the deceased. There were complaints of delay in issuing death certificates in Mavuthampathi and Chinnampathy villages.
The collector also directed officials to provide drinking water supply to all the houses in villages under the
Jal Jeevan mission.
“The resolutions for developmental works passed in the grama sabha meeting would be implemented soon. Steps would also be taken to provide pattas to beneficiaries,” the collector said.
Meanwhile, members of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) took out processions in Tirupur and Coimbatore to mark Labours’ Day on Sunday.
Coimbatore MP P R Natarajan hoisted the CPM flag and extended greetings to the party workers at the district committee office near Gandhipuram.
