Peddler held with heroin, mephedrone worth 25L

Rajkot: A 31-year-old drug peddler was arrested with heroin and mephedrone worth Rs 25 lakh in the city. Accused Wasim Multani, who lives in Ramnath Para area, had concealed 3.33 grams heroin worth Rs 16.65 lakh in his slippers, while 52.46 gm mephedrone worth Rs 8.5 lakh was found in his pockets.
Special operations group (SOG) inspector JD Zala said they had specific information about Multani selling the drugs at a public place and raided the spot. Multani was selling the contraband from near his house. Zala said that Multani was arrested earlier in 2020 too for drug trafficking and offences under Prohibition Act. He also has vehicle theft and others cases lodged against him. He used to get the drugs from Mumbai, the police added.
