NOIDA: Police have arrested five people in connection with a
road rage incident for allegedly trying to run over a man after an altercation on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway late Friday night. The victim, who suffered a brain haemorrhage, is currently in the ICU of Kailash Hospital.

Surya Bhatia, Abhinav Sehgal,
Nitish Gupta and Vijyant Bhati, are all residents of Noida. Police said that Awana was driving the car when it hit the victim.
Around 1.30 am on Friday, Divakar
Motwani (28), a resident of Sector 20, along with two friends, was headed to Sonipat from Noida. According to CCTV footage, which is now viral on social media platforms, an i20 hit their vehicle on the expressway near the Mahamaya flyover. The friends got into an argument with the five i20 passengers. As the situation escalated, the five hit Motwani while trying to speed away from the scene.

Sharma, ACP, Noida, said that the i20 deliberately ran over Motwani after the altercation. "The accused fled the scene but were arrested based on images from CCTV footage. We have now arrested the driver and four others and added attempt to murder charges to the complaint," said Sharma.
The victim’s family has started an online campaign seeking justice. All the family members have taken to social media demanding incarceration for the accused.
Shalini Motwani, Motwani's sister, said that her brother was left seriously injured as the incident impacted his brain. "These people intentionally and brutally hit my brother at full force and left without remorse,” she said.
