NOIDA: Gautam Budh Nagar reported 117 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the active cases to 738. The district has had the maximum cases in the state since April 19.
The district health officials said nine patients are currently undergoing treatment at facilities, but they do not have severe symptoms. A majority of the patients are recovering in home isolation.
With 55 new cases,
Ghaziabad reported the second maximum cases from the state on Sunday. The active cases in Ghaziabad reached 338 after the fresh additions. The district has reported 789 cases since April 1. It reported only 195 cases in March.
On Sunday, after
GB Nagar and Ghaziabad, Lucknow reported the most cases at 26, followed by
Agra with 15 cases.
Out of the 55 cases in Ghaziabad, five Covid-positive patients are under 12 years of age and six are under 20 years.
On Sunday, Ghaziabad tested over 4,200 samples and reported a sample positivity rate of 1.29%. The overall positivity rate in April was 0.77%. The district has had one hospitalisation since April 1. The data released by the district health officials in Ghaziabad showed that the number of schools and colleges where students and teachers have tested positive is now 75.
While the number of Covid-positive teachers has reached 26, one more student was also tested positive on Sunday, bringing the number of positive students to 117. In terms of vaccination, GB Nagar administered 2,408 doses on Sunday, and Ghaziabad administered 3,553 doses across all ages.
