Glass cover of martyr’s statue broken

Ludhiana: Sadar Raikot police have registered a case after unidentified people broke the glass cover of a statue of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha at Lohat Baddi village.
Sajjan Singh, a local, told police that Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Welfare Society had installed the statue of the martyr on April 15 and the village’s panchayat had passed a resolution for it. He added to protect the statue, they had covered it with glass.
He alleged that at 7 pm on 23 April, the glass of the statue was found damaged by locals. He added they did not know who carried out the act. Police said an investigation had been launched.
