City of Cape Town officials have their hands full as they try to fix a burst waterpipe in Simon's Town, which caused a mudslide early on Saturday morning.

At the time the mudslide occurred, traffic was diverted via Colorado Road and Dido Valley.

On Sunday morning, the City's traffic services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs said one lane in Red Hill Road was still closed, affecting motorists travelling from Simon's Town to Fish Hoek.

"Construction vehicles are on the scene. The lane closure will be in effect for the rest of the day. We currently have one officer monitoring the area," Jacobs added.
