One killed, 4 hurt in road mishap

Prayagraj: A 40-year-old man was killed and four others sustained injuries when the vehicle carrying them collided head on with a speeding truck near Katra village under the limits of Shankargarh police station in trans-Yamuna pocket of Prayagraj district here on Sunday. The incident, as per police, took place when a group of people from neighbouring Madhya Pradesh were taking ashes for immersion in Sangam and their vehicle met the mishap. The vehicle was reportedly turned turtle after the collision and left one person killed on the spot. Hearing collision sound, locals rushed the spot and carried out rescue operation. Upon being alerted, a team of local police also arrived on spot and brought injured persons to hospital in city. tnn
