El Paso police search for shooter who wounded 2 men outside Mi Bar Cantina
El Paso police continue investigating a shooting that wounded two men outside an East Side bar over the weekend.
The shooting occurred at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday outside Mi Bar Cantina at the Plaza las Misiones retail strip at 1441 N. Zaragoza Road near Pellicano Drive.
The men had left the bar after an altercation when an unidentified man shot them in the parking lot. The shooter fled after being confronted by a security guard at the bar. A search for the shooter continued Sunday, police said.

The wounded men were identified as Jose Portillo and Carlos Moreno, both are 24 and from East El Paso, police said Sunday.
Portillo and Moreno were taken to Del Sol Medical Center, where police said they are expected to recover from their wounds.
Stabbing in West El Paso
In separate violence over the weekend, detectives continue investigating a West Sstabbing that seriously wounded a person at a restaurant bar next to Sunland Park Mall.
The stabbing occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Friday with crime scene tape set up outside the Union Drafthouse at 730 Sunland Park Drive. The victim's name has not been disclosed.

The wounded person was hospitalized in stable condition at University Medical Center of El Paso, police said. The stabbing is under investigation by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
