Active Covid cases rise in Gujarat, reach 122

AHMEDABAD: With 18 new Covid positive cases and discharge of nine patients, active cases in Gujarat reached 122 on Sunday – the highest in 14 days.
Ahmedabad district and city recorded one and four new cases respectively. Active cases in Ahmedabad remained at 53, or 43% of the state’s total active cases.
Vadodara city and district recorded nine and two cases respectively, and Gandhinagar and Rajkot cities recorded one case each.
With the update, 20 out of 33 districts have zero active Covid cases. One of the active patients is on a ventilator, said state health department officials.
Gujarat in 24 hours vaccinated 2,152 persons for the first dose and 16,778 for the second. In all, 5.38 crore have been administered the first and 5.13 crore, the second dose of Covid vaccine. The state administered 12,030 second doses to the children in the 12-14 years age group, taking the total to 7.16 lakh.
