Gurgaon: Residents of BPTP Spacio in Sector 37D have complained against the management of an adjoining private school for trying to open an illegal gate inside the society.
On Saturday, the residents complained, school staffers had entered the society premises and tried to break the lock of the gate. When objected, they parked school buses and blocked the main entrance of the society. Later, the society guards asked them to remove their vehicles, leading to a scuffle that left some security guards injured, residents said. The entire incident was captured on the
CCTV camera installed at the gate of the society.
The residents have filed a police complaint against the school management. The residents pointed out that an illegal gate, near tower Q of the society, had been constructed by the school management which they are now trying to open forcefully.
One gate of the school has access to the 24-meter road while the other gate is towards the society.
“There is a dispute over the legal sanctity of these gates between the developer and the school management. But who gave the rights to the school management to block the entry gate of our society and to threaten residents and beat our security guards?” asked
Saurabh Sharma,
RWA president.
However, the representative of the school refuted the claims and said, “We have the documents approved by the
department of town and country planning and we have not done anything illegal. Every school accredited with CBSE and under Haryana education Act is allowed to have one entry and one exit gate. On the other hand, the society is actually blocking the exit gate and illegally occupying the space by planting hedges.”
Meanwhile,
Rohit Mohan, senior vice-president (marketing) BPTP Ltd. said, “The said gate is not part of the sanctioned layout plan. We have requested the authorities to take appropriate action.”
