Mysuru: As many as 511 medical students from
Ukraine, Russia, and China applied for the bridge course proposed by the
JSS Medical College, in just two days. This course is likely to be launched in mid-May.
Speaking to the media in the city on Sunday, Suttur seer Shivarathri
Deshikendra Swamiji said that the students will be accommodated into various batches, after mapping the course details they were pursuing in various universities. Later, they will be provided with training at the college. An assessment test will be conducted at the end of the course, and a certificate will be issued.
The course duration will change from batch-to-batch, based on the subjects taught at the institution. “This course has been designed to ensure that students don’t stop learning. The students will be allowed to get access to all the facilities available in the college,” he said. The bridge course will be free for all the students. Suresh, pro-chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, said that the bridge course certificates can be presented by the students to the universities where they are pursuing courses for credits. “Initially, we will map the requirements of the students who have applied for the bridge course. They will be taught in the college, based on their syllabus,” he said.
