Contractual lineman, 28, electrocuted

Kanpur: A lineman, who was on contractual basis, was electrocuted in Musanagar police station area of Kanpur Dehat. The case is of Ghar village, where 28-year-old Vipin Kumar suffered electric shock when he was busy repairing an electric line. According to the information, Kuldeep, the line man of the power substation, Singrasipur, had allegedly asked him to reach the spot for repairing an electric line. Vipin was the contractual line man of the Mutaiharapur sub-station.
After the incident, there was chaos in the area and family members created ruckus. They did not allow the police to lift the police dead body for autopsy. They demanded to call the responsible authorities.
Vipin is survived by wife, son Kapil and daughter Pratigya.
At the same time, on the information, SDM Ajay Kumar Rai and SDO Satish Kumar arrived at the site and after pacifying the agitated family members sent the body for post-mortem. SDM said that the next of kin of the deceased would be given five lakh compensation and other assistance. “The kin have given a complaint of death due to electric shock while repairing the line,” he added.
