COIMBATORE: Sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 4.2kg of gold worth Rs 2.26 crore from two Malaysian nationals, who landed at the Coimbatore International Airport on Friday. The passengers, identified as Tangkesvaran and Nandhini, reportedly brought gold concealed from Singapore. The officers had intercepted the duo on suspicion and recovered the gold, which was in the form of bullion. The accused were produced before the chief judicial magistrate on Saturday. They will be lodged in the Puzhal Central Prison. Further investigation is under way.
