PATNA: Iftar parties in
Bihar have increased the temperature in the political circle. Interestingly, on Friday, which was also the Alvida Juma, two parties had hosted iftar- Congress and HAM (S). The iftar hosted by Congress was attended by leaders from all the parties, barring
BJP.
The iftar at Congress office was organised under the aegis of Indian National Trade Union Congress. Here, leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, along with other
RJD leaders Bhola Yadav and Alok Mehta marked their presence. However, the trio left a bit earlier as they had to attend another iftar called by HAM (S) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi. Congress legislative party leader Ajit Sharma said leaders from JD (U) including cabinet minister Shrawan Kumar and party’s state chief Umesh Kushwaha had come on Congress’s invitation and spent a quality time with them. However, Sharma said no one from BJP was there in spite of the invitation.
Another interesting scene at this iftar was the arrival of Jamui MP Chirag Paswan and VIP founder Mukesh Sahni together in one car. CLP leader Sharma said such iftars in Bihar have sent a strong message to all in the country. “Whatever be the political ideology, we are one. In the dua (prayer) done during iftar, we prayed for the betterment of Bihar as well as the country,” Sharma said, adding, “Together we can take the state forward.” Looking after the arrangement of the iftar, Congress state president Madan Mohan Jha said, “We are thankful to all who had come on such short notice.”
